At Photoplan, we are always looking for new ways to showcase the versatility of our 360 virtual tours. Recently we were commissioned to create a series of immersive 360 tours featuring full-screen 360 functionality for the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London.
The experience lets ticket buyers preview their seats and the view they will have of the stage before they book. The comprehensive tour encompasses various angles, including the box office, circle middle, circle right, circle left and the theatre bar. This interactive approach to ticket booking builds confidence and helps customers secure the best possible seats for their budget.

Apollo Victoria Theatre seating plan
The Apollo Victoria Theatre has a total of 2,328 seats, split into 1,298 in the Stalls and 1,030 in the Dress Circle. Centre stalls from rows F–S provide excellent views of the stage, while the front of the Dress Circle offers an amazing panoramic view — a popular choice for families thanks to its elevated, tiered seating.

Why 360 tours work for theatres
Traditional seating charts show where a seat is on a diagram, but they cannot convey what the view actually feels like. A 360 tour closes that gap:
- Preview sightlines — buyers see the stage from circle left, centre and right before they commit.
- Explore the venue — box office, bar and lobby areas set expectations for the full visit, not just the show.
- Reduce buyer hesitation — uncertainty about restricted views is a common reason tickets are abandoned at checkout.
- Always available — the tour works 24/7 on any device, with no app or download.
About the Apollo Victoria Theatre
The Apollo Victoria Theatre is a historic venue located in London, England. It was initially built in 1930 as a cinema called the New Victoria Cinema, designed by the architect William Edward Trent. The cinema had a seating capacity of 2,760 and was one of the largest in the country at the time.
In 1976, the cinema was converted into a theatre and renamed the Apollo Victoria Theatre. The theatre underwent extensive renovations to transform it into a suitable venue for musicals, including adding a new stage, orchestra pit, and sound and lighting systems. The first production at the newly refurbished theatre was the musical The Sound of Music.
Over the years, the Apollo Victoria has hosted many successful and popular musicals, including Starlight Express, The Witches of Eastwick and Saturday Night Fever. However, the theatre is perhaps best known for its long-running production of the hit musical Wicked, which has been playing at the venue since 2006.
In recent years, the theatre has continued to attract large audiences with productions such as Billy Elliot the Musical and Mamma Mia!. In 2020, the theatre was forced to close temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened in October of that year with a production of Hamilton.
Beyond theatres
The same approach works wherever buyers benefit from exploring a space remotely — hotels, event venues, stadium hospitality, new-build show homes and commercial property. If your audience needs to see a space before they book or buy, a 360 tour is one of the most effective tools available.
